When approaching design for print collateral, including flyers, maps, brochures, and longer reports, my guiding principle is one of telling a story in an interesting, information, and accurate way. My approach is predicated on one hypothetical question:
What am I, the user, expected to do with this information?
Out-of-School Time Job Quality Standards
These standards were drafted by experts at the National AfterSchool Association to provide guidelines and best practices to funders, advocacy experts, and leadership in the OST space for discussing “good jobs” and addressing endemic conerns of recruitment and hiring. I was given the raw copy to transform into two documents: the OST Job Quality Standards and the associated Usage Guide & Assessment. Select pages are reproduced below.

Core Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Self-Assessment
Based on an existing Core Knowledge, Skills & Competencies document developed by the National AfterSchool Association, I developed a 10-part, 106-page self-assessment workbook designed for out-of-school time professionals. This document was designed for use in print and on desktop — each of the 10 assessments were created in InDesign as fillable forms. Select pages are reproduced below.

Products & Services Catalog
This Summer 2024 Products & Services Catalog was designed for the National AfterSchool Association, combining paid advertising of products and services designed for summer learning curriculums, as well as freely showcasing resources from the Association’s key partners.

St. Andrew’s Parish Profile
This document was developed in 2023 for a local church parish seeking a new pastor. Unedited copy was provided by the church steering committee. The profile consists of edited copy, provided photos, and original graphic elements, including custom chapter headers incorporating linework inspired by the church’s branding.

COVID-19 Return to Campus Guide
With the COVID-19 campus assessment team, we drafted and I designed an 18-page Employee Return to Campus Guide for Tulane University the 2020-2021 academic year. This guide included information on safety precautions, testing protocol, visitor procedures, remote work, and much more.

Campus Dining Map
This quad-fold brochure was designed to provide information to new and returning students about dining options on campus. This brochure incorporated an original vector map, original icons, as well as stock iconography and existing branding.

Willow School Crawfish Boil Map
This map was designed for a local school’s crawfish boil. The client requested a hand-drawn, to-scale map that could be printed as a large 3’ x 5’ banner in addition to postcard-sized flyers. A handwritten-style typeface was used in conjunction with hand-drawn icons, buildings, and streets created in Procreate and vectorized.
COVID-19 Graphics Collection
As part of the university’s response to COVID-19, a series of decals, signs, handouts, and other print collateral was developed with the goal of providing health and safety guidance to our community. In conjunction with the university’s creative director, I developed the overarching brand and designed the majority of the suit. This project included much hands-on work, including walking spaces to determine signage needs as well as installation.
These pieces were unified by a common button logo with the text “be COVID-19 safe,” pictured below, and included:
Red “do not sit” stickers to denote offline permanent seating
Square floor decals for classrooms to direct socially-distant placement of chairs and desks
Circular floor decals to be placed at the entrance of private offices and spaces
